If you'd like a starting point: shuffle, hold a question in your head (or no question at all, some mornings), and pull a card. Read what's on it. Look at the picture. Notice what you notice. If the guidebook helps, read the entry. If a different interpretation surfaces, follow that instead.

Some people pull one card a day. Some people only pull when something's stuck. Some people pull three: past, present, future, or whatever three-part question fits the moment. You'll find your version.

You don't need it. You'll probably want it.

The guidebook is over 130 pages and goes deeper than a card can on its own: what the symbol means, and questions to sit with. We wrote it to be useful, not exhaustive. You can read an entry in under a minute.

Many people lean on the guidebook for the first few weeks, then stop, then pick it back up when a card surprises them.

They're good. We use 400 GSM matte cardstock, which sits on the thicker, more substantial end of what's printed for decks. They shuffle properly and don't curl after a week of use. The cards are 77 × 127 mm, slightly larger than a standard playing card, so the artwork has room to breathe. The finish is matte, not gloss, because gloss reflects light into your face during a reading and we don't think that helps anyone.
